Tonkin Along

Another great turn out today but we missed Alex whose rig failed to fire.
Great to see a fire and flood hardened Jamie still smiling at Catalano's.
Ten of the group headed off for a maiden Bozo run up the extended Tonkin Highway. Andrew, Nannup Nick, Ted, Shock Jock Anthony, AAA Anthony, Frank, His Royal Griceness, Peter, Swampy and Bozo took a detour past Optus Stadium before heading back on to Great Eastern Highway to experience the Ellenbrook extension of Tonkin Highway. It seems the fastest way to the Swan Valley is to exit at Gnangara Road and head east (not go up to the Promenade where the current extension ends). Shock Jock swanned off making Anthony conversation simpler whilst the rest headed to Ginger's to be outnumbered by a peleton of Porsches. A run down Warbrook Road and then up Railway Parade to Neaves Road. There is still a delay at Neaves Road where the new Northlink crosses over but we were soon amongst the off road bikes on old Yanchep Road. The burnt areas on Indian ocean Drive are taking a while to recover.
There were lots of bees and flying ants and Frank got stung on the leg but was able to limp along Military Road with the Group before turning to Gingin. Andrew secured the most salubrious table for the group and toasted cheese sandwiches were the most popular order for those with cash. There was no Telstra phone coverage and His Royal Griceness volunteered that he was responsible having constructed multiple communication towers around the town.
A run back along Moolabeenie Road and Crest Hill Road had us facing the parade of Porsches that we had left in the Swan Valley. A splash of fuel and we headed through the Chittering Valley to end the ride in Bullsbrook.
Thanks to Swampy for running as tail end Charlie and Andrew as paparazzi.
