Wesley’s Impromptu Tuesday Ride
Posted: Tue 26 May, 2020 5:53 pm
Picking a window of opportunity this week for a ride was successfully done by Wes today. Quick phones calls and even quicker getting the riding gear on and riding to Ascot Shell had Wes, Brian 5 and Peter heading up the Tonkin to head towards Toodyay. The Toodyay Kid, also known in some circles as Swampy, was visiting his tooth mechanic so was a non starter.
Off the Tonkin onto Gnangara, West Swan Rds and the GNH got us into Brigadoon to head towards Gidgegannup and the curvaceous O'Brien Rd. No traffic, no rain, slightly damp road, 14 degrees—-sweet!
Fernie, Salt Valley, Sandplain, Drummon, Stirlinga and Racecourse soon had us parking outside the famous CC Cafe. We were meant to meet Ross Ashton but missed him by 10 minutes. Oh well it’s the thought that counts.
The CC Cafe was in full social separation mode but did not faze us as we knocked down toasties, full breakfast and coffees. Not many there say another two tables apart from ours.
Julimar Rd and the Chitterings was the selected route home where we separated at Bullsbrook.
A cool day with only one minute of precipitation and riding with good mates couldn’t ask for more.
Thanks Wes for organising and Brian for TEC duties.
