I'll be going for a stretch of the legs next week Paynes fined to Kalgoorlie and back, mostly on dirt and camping overnights.
Just to get the feel of things before, border run, Adells Grove, Cape York, Innisfail, back along the Savanah Way, Top Springs, on to Halls Creek then drop in on Wolfe Creek Crater and home some time in September.
Steve another great and entertaining video. Battery failure and blown fork seal unpredictable but your rear tyre looked like a mongrel dog tyre from the start of the video. Perhaps pushing your luck or am I being a little harsh???

All is not what it seems. What i do in the editing room is largely smoke and mirrors. The shot of the tyre at the beginning of the vid was taken on the last day of the ride on the new stretch of Tonkin Highway near Muchea about 15 km from home. You are justified in being concerned if i had left Perth with a tyre looking like that. We did travel further on the trip than anticipated...you just gotta have faith!!!
You don't have to have a long neck...to be a goose
Digger
I think Peter is rushing in to say that you have no fear of travelling with angel level tread. I am disappointed that a plaster of spinifex, melted cable ties and tyre glue was not applied with heated tent pegs to form a protective cover to the tyre canvas or that HRG did not magically recover his battery by surrounding it with warm sand from a campfire. You need to have a chat to the producers of Aussie Gold Hunters.
Bozo
Digger your smoke and mirrors fooled me. I didn’t think you would set out on such a ride without confirming to the Army practice of the 5 P’s. Bozo I think you will have to demonstrate your tyre saving concoction on a future ride.
