A Solo Swampy Sojourn!!

I decided I needed some Swamp time today so elected to take a solo ride today instead of joining the regular great group of riding companions in Kelmscott this morning!!
I took my normal route up Brookton Hwy and through a rather chilly Mundaring Weir Road to Stoneville before deviating onto O'Brian road for a slow and steady run for a change so I could observe the surrounding bush before once again emerging onto Toodyay Rd.
From there on it was a fairly straight forward ride before once again taking Sand Plains Rd. into Toodyay at 1045AM and the Cola Cafe which was fairly busy with tourists and groups of bike riders stopping in for a welcome warm up as the temp. hovered around 13.5 with one of my local mates informing me that the fog had only just cleared from the valley.
It was so nice to be out on the bike in the Winter sunshine so instead of slabbing straight back home I took the scenic route over to Northam and York and back onto GEH at the Lakes for another quick coffee break before regretfully merging back into metro traffic and all that entails when you ride a motorcycle!!
I arrived home safely around 1400 hrs after narrowly avoiding a female kamikazi driver who turned in front of me on Albany Highway in Kelmscott
A pleasant day out for a retired person unshackled from years on the labour force with the promise of Lefty joining the select few in another weeks time and who is very welcome to join in if he is prepared to leave his bloody guitar at home
See you all at the AGM on Monday night where hopefully commonsense will prevail and we will see a new Club President voted in...Good onya Graeme!!
