With my first ride for 6 weeks it was great to see a swarm of BMW’s at Mojos this morning. Even though it was about 12 degrees Swampy had convinced Ross, Wes, Nick, Chris HRH and Chris PD, new retiree Robbie, Andrew, Noel and myself to get out. The warming coffees were welcome with discussions ranging from unfortunate Steve Nurzo stuck in Halls Creek with a broken collar bone ( all our regards Steve for a speedy recovery) to Noel’s solid thoughts about buying a Husky 701LR.
I somehow inherited the lead when I suggested Beverley for lunch with Swampy providing his usual solid TEC position.
With the sunshine slowly raising the temperature we set off through Stoneville, Mt Helena, Chidlow, Wooroloo to reach the GEH and head down Inkpen Rd to Yarra for our first stop on Talbot West Rd. No wind, sun shining, 15 degrees meant the Beemers were humming. The Emu herd on Talbot West Rd were present in larger numbers with many youngsters, fortunately on the other side of the fencing.
Talbot West Rd was perfect as usual and led us into Beverley via Waterhatch Rd. The Red Vault was our eating choice and as usual toasties were very popular. Following some earlier texts Brian 5 managed to meet us there, after his delayed start with an earlier appointment.
The group split, after the very satisfying lunch, with the off roaders hitting the dirt and us bitumen boys heading to York, Talbot Rd, GSH and The Lakes to bring us back to the suburbs and to our homes.
Thanks Swampy for convincing us to get out on a very pleasant Winter’s day and TEC duties. Thanks to all the other riders for reminding me what a great Club we have and how lucky we are to be able to travel as we wish to our country towns.
Let’s not forget to thank Andrew for his photos.

Thanks Pete for your kind words and yes we are indeed fortunate that here in Western Australia we are Covid Free at this time and are free to travel as we wish in our own state!!
I join with you in wishing Steve Nurzo a swift recovery from his broken collar bone as the consequences of spending as little as 2 weeks and maybe 6 weeks isolated in the Halls Creek Caravan Park is bound to affect his mental health and I would hazard a guess he will be on his bike heading for home well before his bone heals

A terrific turnout and a shame Noel had to opt out of the ride but great to have Robbie join us as Peter fresh from his holiday in the North West led the group for an interesting ride that kept everyone focused and attentive through the lovely back blocks of the Darling Range!!

Also terrific to see Brian/5 make the effort to join us in Beverley for lunch after having to attend some personal business in Perth. Now there's dedication for you!! 8)

The countryside is looking splendid with Canola crops making their usual spectacular display of ribbons of yellow contrasting with the lush green of the new crops of barley and wheat!!

It was indeed a good day to be out on a motorcycle to share a great ride together with a terrific bunch of guys with loads of good natured humour being bandied around the group of one young and a heap of the Old Coots!! :P

Thanks Pete for taking the lead again and to the rest of you for making it such a good day!! 8)
