Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

A gathering of 10 "Old Farts" met this morning at Mojo's in Mundaring on a rather overcast beginning to the day!!

Brian/5, Peter B, Scruff, Nannup Nick, Mackerel Eddy, Wes, Mr. Pizza, Swampy and Profoundly Disturbed as we all were to learn that DFS had sprung an oil leak on his way to meet us and had to return home to affect repairs!!

It was decided that Calingiri was the preferred destination for our gathering of fossilised folk and Peter once again took us on a Magical Mystery Tour of the hills with all it's twists, turns, gully's and hills to suddenly emerge across the road from O'Brian Road which of course we had to sample!!

Somewhere down the track we found our way trekking through the magical scenic hills above a rather lovely picturesque country town I think was named Toodyay??

Sadly it was only a fleeting visit as we crossed the Bridge over the Avon and headed North East through vast paddocks of beautiful Canola in full bloom to arrive in Calingiri for a well earned refreshment break and a very welcome comfort break especially for some of the older old farts but I won't embarrass anyone by mentioning names
Mr. Pizza departed for home in South Geraldton and Nannup Nick decided on a different return to his palatial palace in Wembley!!

Wes decided to do the touristy thing by exploring the town on his bike which would take about two minutes and was not seen again

And the Dregs of the remainder had an enjoyable scenic ride back to Northam were we refueled before splitting up for home!!

The weather turned out to be extremely pleasant and mild so there was no complaints of the arthritic variety for a change from the gathering of SSFR's and Aged Pensioners!!

Thank you Peter for leading the ride and also to the group for another day of good natured banter and company!! 8)

PS. I hope you managed to fix your bike Dave, It's a shame you missed such a good day on the road

Thanks for the fascinating ride report Swamps. I was just about to put pen to paper but not with the eloquence of your good self.
Yes it was pleasantly warmer than expected and no rain, so a beautiful early Spring day. With the wildflowers on the verges and canola fields plus the steady throb of the Beemers it was very relaxing touring.
Thanks to all for your good company and Brian 5’s assistance with leading and the Swamps ever reliable TEC duties.
