A very healthy turn up today at Catalano's given that almost a quarter of the Club were negotiating the Nannup Nocturne.
Six riders headed to Bindoon via back roads. It seemed that most were known by their initials only so the whole group were given that treatment. JC, DFS, HRG, B/5, DMcP and B1 took a run through the Bickley Valley past Mundaring Weir. Just near Mundaring, in Firey Ross's bailiwick we were assaulted by intense heat with two metre high flames at the road's edge from a controlled burn after passing through smoke from earlier fires. B/5 claimed a shortage of fuel and left the group at Mundaring with five pressing on for a run down Roland Road and O'Brien Road to get to the Swan Valley. The Chittering Valley was packed for what looked like a mountain bike event as was the Bindoon Bakehaus. A gentle run home via a wildflower filled Blue Plains Road and Tonkin Highway.
His Royal Whiteness, the rider formerly known as HRG, did and outstanding job as TEC.
Thanks to HRW and the group for good company and an enjoyable ride.
