A group of eight riders took a hills coastal run to Miami Bakehouse at Falcon. Ted and his son Rob (on an shock and awe skull clad 1800), Nannup Nick, Just John, Andrew, Dane, Peter Bee and Bozo travelled via Lesmurdie, Canning Road, Canning Mills Road, Tonkin Highway and Rowley Road to get to Naval Base before getting held up by a shunting Aurizon train near Wells Park. A run through a packed Rockingham had us on a slow circuit of the Safety Bay shoreline before filtering through the southern suburbs to get to the Miami Bakehouse.
Great to have Ted and his freight train driver son, Rob, on the ride with us. A few minutes chat and you could see the similar interests and background in the two. Rio Tinto turned out to be a common denominator with Dane, Rob and Andrew having been involved with the company.

We passed over what is thought to be the tallest road bridge in Western Australia, the Port Bouvard Bridge, with columns up to 19 metres high.
A pleasant run around the Peel Inlet and along Dowsett Road before riding through Coolup and on to Burnside Road. At Pinjarra the group split up.
Perfect weather for a ride with the strong breeze keeping insect numbers manageable.
