.....Pillion ride overnighter, Honeymoon Pools near Wellington Dam.

Saturday 13th February...Sunday 14th February

Not going to stipulate that you have a pillion or that it is YOUR wife/girlfriend/boyfriend, but this weekend is adding something different to the ride calendar. It happens to be Valentines Day on the Sunday, so what more special than to include the One Who Must Be Obeyed (and lets you go away by yourself most of the time) in a camping overnighter not too far from Perth.

Meet at Honeymoon Pools, getting there ......look at your maps.....off Collie Road, then past Wellington Dam.

Micklin and I are leaving my place at 9:30AM (I prefer 5AM, but that is NOT an option :P ) Zinnia Way Willetton if anyone wants to join us on the ride. We will probably bee-line to Honeymoon Pools with a coffee stop along the way.

BYO everything. There are toilets, electric BBQs there, not bad camping facilities.

Let me know if you are coming along.

Only honeymoon pool I can locate is on River road, off Wellington dam road? Looks like it's on a creek that feeds of the dam?

I got these co-ordinates.... -33.377416,115.938249

Jacky and I might wander down for a visit, got shifts day before and after.... so only for a time.

Sounds like you got the right place Bry. Just watch for the "BS" number plates

Hi Geoff,

Count me in.
I am relatively close by, however, the overnighter will be as always a good opportunity to catch up with various members.

Cheers

If anyone has problems in finding the place, give me a call 0407542440. Be aware that the road from Collie Rd--> Wellington Dam is good, but there is a little bit of dirt road just South-East of Wellington dam, only a few hundred metres in fact, then you turn off onto a ONE WAY bitumen road. You cannot get back to Wellington Dam easily from Honeymoon pools and the exit is either via a dirt road back to the Collie-Wellington Dam Rd., or down towards Ferguson.

Micklin and I will have to pack and leave reasonably early on Sunday. Not sure how many people are coming yet. We intend having a stop perhaps at Jarradale for a coffee and maybe at the Brunswick Heads pub for cold supplies 8) . Apparently Ken and Toni are heading down Friday night, and hope to score us a good campsite.

Geoff

If anyone is staying down there till later sunday let me know may slip down for a coffee about 10 or meet some riders on the way back. Have a ADV beer fest on Saturday so can't make the overniter (bummer- love camping) Maybe meet at Waroona Bakery for coffee at 10.30 if that suits??????

Had Ken, Toni, Micklin and myself down at Honeymoon Pools. Great spot, facilities are pretty good, but it was crowded. met up with Bry on the way back at Waroona Bakery, but decided to head home Sunday mornign as it was going to be 37 degrees.

Really nice spot, not that far from Perth, great overnighter.
