Bozoless Journey 2

Post by pspencer »

With Bozo still in SA and reduced numbers at Cats this morning we did well to get 7 bikes out to head towards Beverley to lunch at the Red Vault. With Peter and Julie plus Peter’s brother Andrew(?) peeling off at Mundaring it left Bruce, Rainer, Adrian, Nick and myself to head through Chidlow, Wooroloo and Wundowie to get onto Inkpen Rd leading towards the Talbots. No wind, blue skies, temp around 30 and the Talbots in fine condition it was a joy. Lots of emus to amuse us and little traffic soon had us gliding into Beverley.
However, all did not go to plan as the Red Vault was closed until March 31 and nothing else was open at 11:30am in the deserted main drag of Beverley. So it was decided to push onto York using the Great Southern Hwy and the Top Beverley Rd. We arrived in York 20mins later and headed to a small cafe next to the Weston Real Estate office. We found a shaded table on the footpath and consumed toasties, hot dogs, coffees, soft drinks and even an ice cream. Even though it was mid 30’s a light breeze made it very pleasant.
Back onto the Talbots and GSH soon had us at The Lakes where the ride finished and we made our own way home. Temp now 37 and approx 270kms.
Thanks Nick for TEC duties and the others that made it an enjoyable day.
