Nannup Air Head Ride!!

Post by Swampy »

What's happening people, Am I the only one participating in Guys Ride to Nannup?

You don't require an Air Head to join in and Nannup's a great destination so get your A.... and BM's into gear and put your name down for what promises to be a great weekend!!

No need to stress. Anything Guy has anything to do with goes without a hitch (even his boat trailer)

Wish I could, Swampy. It would be a 9,000 km round trip though. I'm in Darwin.

Have fun everyone.

Swampy, Does the R18 count as an AIRHEAD? The heads ARE most definitely in the air... Please advise. Thanks, Raider

Raider please rest assured you are without an ounce of "Bull Dust" undoubtedly an outstanding Air Head aficionado and are with those massive R18 Heads well and truly qualify to join us on Guy's Airhead ride to Nannup. 8)

However I would advise you ride to the rear of the group to ensure a free flow of air to those riding bikes with heads of diminutive size

Swampy, Thank you. I am getting excited about the possibilities. Just one more question. What about someone who turns up on a flash liquid-cooled in-line 2, 4 or 6 - without a helmet... Would that count as an AIRHEAD participant? Please advise. Thanks, Raider

Dear Raider, I am so happy you are getting excited and be advised that a person such as you so aptly described who rocked up for the ride on a flash looking liquid cooled inline 2, 4 or 6 without a helmet would most certainly qualify as a Air Head Rider and may I suggest be welcomed with much enthusiasm by the clubs resident Air Head Owners of which we have a few!! :P

I can easily imagine the intriguing dialogue and diatribe which would emanate in this mingling of like minds in a bar after a few bevvies had been bucketed down by a few berks

As a matter of fact I welcome witnessing such a wealth of waffle and would wonder at the weaving if the party described does not welch out

Nannup Nick is in Darwin, but he's keeping his beady little eye on what you blokes are up to, don't you worry about that!

Hello Swampy and fellow Airheads, I will be there- I volunteered to take the trailer down, so will be inside the tin (Alloy) caged machine. Just need to find somewhere to pitch the tent.

Quite a few people have now expressed interest in Guy's Airhead Overnighter at Nannup 8)

Guy will be travelling down to Nannup on the Friday to meet up with some other people so I have taken on the role of organising a ride on Saturday the 8th May for the main group.

Basic Information is as follows:

Date: Saturday 08/05/2021
Time: 0900 hrs.
Place: Caltex Service Station. Corner South Western Highway and Dell Park Road. North Dandalup

It is advised that all riders take the opportunity to fuel their bikes before departure from North Dandalup to avoid unnecessary delays whilst en-route to Nannup.

It will be dependent on the number of bikes joining this ride on whether Corner Marking Procedures are initiated !!

The route is still in the planning stage, however I envisage it will include Dwellingup, Quindanning, Boyup Brook, Bridgetown (For a Beer), Balingup and onto Nannup arriving around 3-4 PM? (subject to change)
A suitable stop for a lunch break will be included in the route!!

I will confer with Peter Spencer to request his assistance in organising the route and also beg his indulgence to lead the ride as he has so capably and successfully done in the past while I take up TEC or Sweep duties!!

This is predominately an "Air Head" Overnighter and while this is the main focus of this trip, it is not a pre requisite to own or ride one and All Bikes are Welcome to join in!!

PS. Alex will be attending on his combination with "Young Ted" providing ballast in his chair!!

Regards to All
