Desert Raid 2021 Outback Western Australia Suzuki DRZ 400E

Post by Kots »

Hello All

https://youtu.be/sWPEgCeZhRk

Some comments directly so far include there’s too many shots of myself. That’s because my video packed it in. You’ll see some tell tail signs at the end of some of the video parts.

A couple of weeks before leaving my 2020 F850 GSA’s clutch was replaced under warranty by BMW which I appreciated immensely. I chose to take the DRZ instead for this run as a result.

I’m inspired by Club members Digger and His Royal Griceness, who took their time to brief Jean and myself earlier in the year during the preparation phase and we are most grateful.

Jean was a Machine with his organisation and preparedness to accommodate 5 other cats which he had to heard from time to time.

This ride for me was the result of skills I developed through my years in the Club where many people imparted their skills and advice. With a ride through all sorts of terrain and surfaces and not one “off” in around 2700 kms I think the advice has been invaluable.

Sound may not be 100% nor the video but like my riding I’m gonna work on it and see where it takes me.

Hey Kots thanks for the great video. Looks like you had a great ride. I'm looking forward to a few rides soon after a few months off while my arm recovers from an accident unloading my GS off the trailer. See you soon.

Thanks Goldie.

I see myself as the apprentice with a way to go yet in both kms and expertise in the production stakes.

It is fun to flick the vid on when werk is getting a bit slow.

I am of course worried about plagiarising sayings - but we all agree about the rating of werk.

Excellent, even a bit arty. Appreciate the effort to make us snowflakes feel part of the journey.

Not sure about the snowflakes Bozo.

Arty shots, well I’m glad someone picked them up or at least pushed on through the excessively long drone footage and the apparent excess shots of myself.

The ride and the crew were awesome.

Getting twitchy for the next ride through the desert.

I did notice a sign the other day when I was in the country which said, “Holland Track” something like 553k to Coolgardie. I might start a bit of research. I know I’ve heard a few of the guys mention it.
