Riders - off the beaten track,

I plan on heading off from the DOME in Kalamunda 8:45am on the Saturday morning for the ride to Nannup.

There will be quite a bit of open dirt road riding, including south to Dwellingup, then on to Collie and then to Ballingup for a coffee & pie break. From there, the short downhill ride to Nannup.

The ride to Ballingup is about five hours… Aiming to get into Nannup mid-afternoon.

I will be on the GSA, not the R18… There are a few rough sections that require more than a few millimetres of suspension travel :)

A beaut ride south along the Darling Range - very limited traffic will likely be encountered.

See you at the Kalamunda DOME?

Cheers,

Raider

Riders,

I did a run trial down to Ballingup and on to Nannup today - see route below. Took under four hours Kalamunda DOME to Ballingup - steady, non-stop riding. Surprisingly dusty on the dirt sections...

The gravel sections are interspersed with black-top (exit) roads. There are tricky dirt sections that could ruin your day if you loose concentration for a moment. Not recommended for novice dirt riders.

From Nannup, headed to Kirrup (north side of Blackwood River), then to Collie and back up to Dwellingup. Reversing the dirt ride just as good! Then north on the Southwest Highway and home.

Cheers,
Raider
