Quellington Loop to Toodyay

A very busy first Sunday back at Catalano's with some members wearing shiny new gear. Odd to see Brian/5 on a 21 year old Ducati. Good to see Truckie Alan at the breakfast back from a busy time in the Goldfields. Fiery Ross reports that his BMW RT is on the water but may have a brief Asian holiday before landing in Australia.

Eight riders including Brian/5, Rod Rocket Peter, Wightman, Rainer, Dave S, Peter Bee and Bozo were sufficiently impressed by the cooler weather to do a loop from the Lakes, down Talbot West Road, Top Beverley Road, York Quairading Road, Marwick Road, Goldfields Road and Manmanning Road to get to Quellington. A regroup at Quellington was fortunate timing for Dave S who was about to lose his seat and tool kit on his BMW R1100GS. A few occy straps later and all was secured for the run via Northam and Katrine to Toodyay. We were passed by Wes travelling on Katrine Road towards Northam.

The Toodyay Bakery was closed for Christmas, so we were forced to the Coca Cola Cafe to talk about riding gear and the inadequacy of a tee shirt or halter top as protective clothing.

A climb past the Toodyay Racecourse to get to Sandplain Road gave us a run on Salt Valley Road and Fernie Road to get to Gidgegannup before a diversion onto Bunning and Alice Roads to end the ride at Mundaring.

A very pleasant outing, some new roads and brilliant weather. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and to Wightman for the photo.

Excellent weather for a Sunday ride thanks Bozo. I’ve seen lots of the guys wearing T shirts under the jackets and I cannot wait to see the ones wearing halter tops
