Re: Thursday March 10 MOJOS MUNDARING
A party of three left Ascot Gloria Jeans via the Helena Valley tourist route to meet the remainder at Mojo’s. With only a total of six at Mojo’s the number were down, possibly due to the forecasted hot day. On the old scale it was to max at 100ºF.
Only three left for a short ride south through the hills to Jarrahdale General Store. The ride was along Mundaring Weir Road with the Paulls Valley and Hummerston Road loops. A zig zag up past the Walliston industrial area to Lawnbrook Rd going past the old STW Channel 9 TV transmitter site. The mast and buildings now having been removed. STVW 9 was the first TV in WA to transmit 24 hours a day in 1985.
Then it was down the usual route through Pickering Brook via Walnut, Patterson and Repatriation Roads. Then down Canning Road across the Brookton Hwy to Gardiner, on past Canning Dam and Albany Hwy to turn into Jarrahdale Rd. Arriving at the General store at 11:30.
The ride out was a lot cooler than expect only warming up for the ride home.
Thanks Digger & P/Bee for the company.
