Squinting on the silver surfaced roads

A small turn out at Catalano's today being a combination of temperature, weather and the Novocastrians. Great that Jamie is still around to photograph the sea state at Cottesloe. Big surprise to catch up with Rene who I last saw at school 60 years ago.

Rhonda, Brian/5, Multimedia Mark, Grahame (Grub), Peter Bee and Bozo looked to the sky and BOM to plot a dry route to the Lakes. Recent rain, the low position in the northern sky of the near to winter solstice sun and our direction of travel produced streams of silver roads. The successful interpretation of the weather ended at the Lakes with our run past a low emu count West Talbot Road and along West Qualen Road interspersed with showers. At York we were down to 4 and again got drenched as we approached Bakers Hill. Fortunately a large group of school cadets had been fed and left us with a brief warm moment as the sun came out and pies were consumed. Chargers of the phone and Valiant variety were discussed along with exploding asbestos fences.

The run home was again interspersed with light rain.

The countryside is looking magnificent, but with a few trees down in the recent storm. An enjoyable ride. Thanks to Peter Bee and Mutimedia Mark for running as tail end Charlie.

Yes Bozo thanks for a great ride in sometimes damp conditions. But it is winter and the sun at lunchtime was very pleasant.
