I am putting together a road ride to the Christmas in July function, Saturday the 23rd July at the Bedford Arms Hotel, as they would like to have a few bikes on display in front of the hotel from 3pm for a couple of hours.
The hotel will advertise that the BMW Club will have bikes on display to draw in additional patrons.
Ride will assemble at The Lakes Roadhouse at 1pm for leisurely jaunt through the countryside and arrive in Brookton around 3pm.
Let me know if you are coming and we will keep an eye out for you, even if you are tagging along to the function, or returning to Perth that evening.

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

I am in for the ride.
Looking at the forecast, I don't how much shine will be remaining when we get there.

Christmas in July Function – Bedford Arms Hotel in Brookton 23rd July 2022
I lead a couple of brave souls on motorbikes, in what can only be described as poor conditions – Strong wind and heavy rain all the way to Beverley before easing as we continued onto Brookton.
We enjoyed drinks and fellowship around the fire in the front bar, then headed to shower and dress for the dinner. Jamie & Lisa did a great job, a delicious 3 course meal (copious quantities) in a lovely setting with a Christmas touch.
Jon O provided the entertainment, running a very informative quiz.
David Sarolea did a lot of foot work to organise the event, but took ill and could not be there to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
Club Awards – Street Cred Trophy was awarded to John Pollaers for his recent adventure into the desert with fellow club members, during which he had a slight off resulting in a sore ankle, John pushed on with gusto and made it home, only to find out he had fractured his ankle A great effort JP.
Gunther Glaesnner Trophy – Was awarded to Peter Spencer for his ongoing efforts leading rides, and displaying his leadership qualities on multiple occasions. Well done Peter .
Karen and Carol were presented with artwork from the exclusive Swampy collection for their regular and ongoing attendance.
Mike and Anna were awarded a bottle of wine and artwork from the exclusive Swampy collection for getting into the festive spirit and dressing for the occaison.
Clayton was awarded a bottle of wine for longest distance travelled to the dinner, completing over 800 km round trip.
RFDS Donations have now closed – Prizes were donated by Auto Classic and BMW Clubs Australia, and were allocated by random number generator;
First prize – Nick Coleman – BMW Communicator
Second prize – Yuri Verbann – BMW Back pack
Third prize – Heather van Wyk – BMW Tail bag
Fourth prize – Alex Pinkster – C Tech charger
Fifth prize – Rob Slocombe - $100 Auto Classic voucher
Sixth prize – Graeme Cooke – Bottle of wine
Seventh prize – Chris Fitzhardinge – Bandana (neck warmer)
Eight prize – Dane Hayden – BMW Beanie
If members can contact me and we will arrange a time and place to hand over the trophies and prizes.
We will advise details of the RFDS donation handover once they are locked in.
Thank you to all whom took part and made the event a success.
