Handling the Heated Gloves

A less than optimum day for a bike ride but four brave souls disregarded the forecast and skedaddled for the sodden scarp. Rod Rocket Peter, Multimedia Mark, Water Mark and Bozo negotiated cyclists, school holiday traffic, detritus and sheets of water to do the run up Repatriation Road, Paterson Road, Walnut Road and on past Mundaring Weir. A brief stop at the Parkerville Tavern allowed Rod Rocket Peter to switch to his battery powered heated gloves with multiple LED indicated heat settings, a great match with his immaculate Kawasaki Ninja 1,000 SX. There was a lot of interest in the gloves as the red white and blue LED's glowed brightly in the gloom.

A subdued run on the wet O'Brien, Berry and Reserve Roads got us to a welcome dry stop at the Gidgegannup Bakery. No amount of rain radar assessment or clever choice of routes was going to make any difference. We were all going to get very wet getting home.

Thanks to the committed riders who headed out knowing they would end up cold and wet (although one rider had toasty knuckles). Thanks also for Water Mark for running as tail end Charlie.

Rainy days are just that and keeps you on your toes. A rainy day on the bike is better than a sunny day at work.
