Solo Swampy

Post by Swampy »

Well, What a turn up for the books with none of the "Nancy Boys' anywhere in sight!!

With Scruff engaged in a mountain bike ride from Perth to Albany, Nannup Nick on a ride to Geraldton, and Vic and Wes absent with legitimate leave passes it was an opportunity for Swampy to take a solo run to his favourite haunt by traveling through the escarpment through Mundaring and Stoneville to access Toodyay road on a rather chill 4C morning!

A lovely mostly traffic free run through to Toodyay apart from an empty monster B double passing me well over the posted limits nearly blowing me into the bush!!
Taking a scenic backroad I descended into a sunny sleepy Toodyay which was just waking to a new day!!

I enjoyed a free coffee at the Cola while I watched the locals emerge and the town begin to hustle and bustle before regretfully moving on to make my way home again.

A lovely day out and a good ride to whet the appetite, now looking forward to the Annual Nannup Pilgrimage on Saturday week!!

Swampy
"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
