Another great riding day, with a solid turn out at Catalano's.
Hard to miss with its expanses of chrome and distinctive sound was Rod Rocket Peter's new BMW First Edition R18.
Seven riders, Goldie, Medic Mike, GS Mark, Nannup Nick, Ray, Peter Bee and Bozo took a circuitous route to get the Guildford Heritage Day. A run through the back of the Bickley Valley, past Mundaring Weir, down Stoneville and O'Brien Roads, through the Lancewood Woops and down into the Swan Valley and Gingers was packed with wildflowers including dense stands of kangaroo paws.
After Bullsbrook we deviated onto Bonavita Road, Jenkins Road, Polinelli Road, Muchea East Road, Powderbark Road, Wandena Road for a short run along Great Northern Highway before taking Maddern Road West, Maddern Road South, Leschenaultia Drive, Toodyay Glen and Blue Plains Road to get back on Chittering Road. The Teatree Road loop was made a little tricky by a slab of gravel from road works but we arrived at a packed Bindoon Bakehaus to regain our composure. The return run included the Chittering Valley Road where emu corner did not disappoint with around 30 emus.
We were late to Guildford with Lefty packing up after doing three sessions and a former club member, Murray from Esperance, dropping in to say hello.
Thanks to Peter Bee for running as last in succession on the way to Bindoon and GS Mark for carrying out the role to Guildford.
Home in time to see the delayed telecast of both the Moto GP and the Rugby League World cup.
