Scarpering to Dwellingup

Post by Bozo »

Interesting group at Catalano's this morning with DFS back for the harvesting season, Nev back from his farm management duties (including herding Llamas) on a massive Honda and Vic with a CF Moto version of the BMW 750GS.

Rob, JC and Bozo were all set to leave on the Sunday ride when Rob noticed almost no coolant in his bike. The group was down to two so we were able to try a few new roads as we headed to Churchman's Brook and Byford. Tyres and their availability have become discussion topics and we had a chat to a local rider about what worked on our bikes. After Serpentine Dam we decided to take a bit of Scarp Road (gravel) to get to North Dandalup. The ball bearing gravel did not disappoint.

Dwellingup was packed but we had a clear run back down the hill to spot a dark rain cloud over Perth. We got a bit wet in the last hour of the run home.

It was a surprise to discover that JC has turned 80 and that he built a boat in his backyard to cruise around the world.

Thanks to JC for running as tail end Charlie and for taking a few kms of gravel to try out different roads.
