I arrived at Mojos at about 8.30, via Mundaring Weir, when I realised that I would never make the Gloria Jeans deadline.

Some punters had already fronted up at Mojos and were ordering pastries and hot coffees within titanium studded, endurolast, ceramic embedded vessels. Counter intelligence reports indicated that Nick and Wes might have been spotted at the Dome.........

/5 Brian and Anthony had just had a duel on their peas-in-a-pod Ducatis down Craig street; it resembled a clandestine backstreet dragstrip. /5 vowed that he would very soon make headway on restoring his /5, starting with powder-coating the frame and rebushing the centrestand. Bwana held forth on the virtues of Harley Davidsons and Kwakka Z9's. Peter Bee gave the group a lecture on sand mining.

Bozo elucidated further on the difference between a common ore, a platinum blonde and a virgin seam. The discussion almost tended towards the absurd before Peter Bee called the group together and we decided to keep riding west until we found something interesting. Peter stopped along Lovers Lane (by now we were down to 2 punters) and we looked at the enigmatic yellow statue alongside the hillside windsock.

Looking out of the corner of my eye, it looked like there were some rag-tag Club members at the Coca Cola cafe, but closer inspection showed up Swampy, Vic and Fiery Ross with madame Ross on a pocket rocket, to keep the boys in check. Soon, that group moved on and Peter Bee and I ordered toasted sandwiches. Multimedia Mark popped up like a jack-in-the-box with the delightful damsel, Nerissa perched on the back. They had just torn up the back plots around Bolgart.

Peter Bee reiterated that the beauty of the Thursday rides was that you could photoshop yourselves into the event (and airbrush yourself out, as well) Peter proposed that we carry on towards Calingiri and Cadoux but I said that I would prefer not to.

Peter, the emperor of fun, then threaded us back home via Sand Plains road, Toodyay road and back to the Swan Valley. Peter then scurried home to embark on the long list of jobs which Mei had lined up for him.

Thanks Peter Bee for an entertaining day in the saddle and for all those others who made cameo appearances
