Jinking* to Jarrahdale

Post by Bozo »

A very solid turnout at Cafe Catalano and Cafe Dome. An excellent range of bikes, particularly airheads. Great to see new faces and for Steve and Trip (Andrew) to head on the ride. Also spotted were JD and Tim. Tim was explaining that his rear rim on his RnineT had to be run backwards. Even though Tim has a mixed source for the components to his extensively farkled Option 719 RnineT it looks and sounds amazing.

R90S Mark, Steve (the Digger ex-army transport who is not Digger), Trip (Andrew), His Royal Griceness, Astro, JonO, Nev, Nannup Nick, Peter Bee and Bozo agreed to converge on the General Store at Jarrahdale. Astro and HRG went the dusty way with an interlude at Mount Dale whilst the rest jinked their way along the face of the Darling Scarp. HRG and Astro were waiting at Jarrahdale when we arrived. The topic quickly turned to temperature extremes when returning from winter in Korea/Japan to 40 degree heat in Australia. Pies/coffee/cold drinks consumed we headed to Mundijong to face the searing heat of the coastal plain before the ride ended at Byford.

No native animals were spotted by either ride group, seemingly they were sensible to stay still in the shade.

Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and for a weak sea breeze for taking the edge off the high thirties temperature as we neared home.
