A mob of emus

The conversation on Sundays has moved on from paleontology to collective nouns. The West Talbot Road emus (two mobs of them, numbering about 30 in total) were happily trampling the stubble over 300 metres away from the road.

A solid turn out at C and D cafes with the Laverda Jota 1000 belonging to Pete (2 volts) getting a lot of interest. He has just completed a new paint job and restoration banishing the 70's yellow/orange with a pinstriped metallic black.

Eleven riders started out on the ride to Toodyay Bakery via Top Beverley Road, York, Spencers Brook and Northam. Ted, Rob, Pete (2 volts), Rainer, JonO, JC, Medic Mike, His Royal Griceness, Nick, Nev and Bozo had only travelled half way along Orrong Road before encountering a Triumph in trouble. The group pulled up and assisted with a push start. Hopefully that got him home. Cyclists and Learner Drivers were out in force so it was a pleasure to get to wide open roads with little traffic when we got to Talbot West Road. We took the York Williams Road to get to Top Beverley Road for a spirited run into York. By then we were down to seven with Ted, Rob, JC and Pete choosing to head home via more direct routes. After a run through Northam we picked up Katrine Road for a winding, bumpy run towards Toodyay. After stopping at the Toodyay Bakery and consuming bakery goods upstairs we found out that the D Cafe group were at Coca Cola Cafe.

The run home was via the Racecourse Hill, Drummond Drive, Salt Plain Road and Fernie Road to get to Toodyay Road, where the ride ended. A great group and stunning work by the stand in tail end Charlie, Nev, on his sparkling blue monster.

I got a puncture on Toodyay Rd after we all split up, and had to limp home from servo to home. Flat tyre today.😫. It's almost out of tread so probably not worth repairing, I'll get a new tyre instead.

Nick
Sorry to hear about the issue with the tyre. Hope it is simple to sort (ie tyre choice is in stock).
