A well- behaved group managed an orderly transition from Vic Park to the South Perth foreshore to be marshalled into a drone friendly image of Western Australia. Another element was the recognition of our oldest active member and one of the early building projects his family were involved in through the presentation of the Swampy artwork - The House that Ted Built.

A couple of splinter groups continued the tradition of a Sunday Ride. GS Bill + Trish, Navigator Nick, Medic Mike, R90S Mark, Rob, Ralph, Peter Bee and Bozo zig zagged through the Bickley Valley to do the Brian/5 variation on the extension of Aldersyde Road. A quick stop at Mundaring Weir (it was open after being closed for the hot weather) was followed by the Brian/5 Gill Street link to Parkerville. Navigator Nick's preferred western deviation on Beacon Road was taken before getting back on to Roland Road to get to Reen Road. We rarely travel north on Reen Road (was that the Reen Road asked a rider repeatedly) and this was disorienting until we returned on Reserve Road to Gidgegannup Bakery. Rod Rocket Peter, Fiery Ross, Sophie and Vic were just leaving as we arrived.

Travel, historic bridges, moving house, 40 year membership of the RAC, Reen Road and nick names were discussed. The group split with most travelling home via Bunning, Kingston, Alice and Prosperity Roads. An ill-advised deviation onto Woodlands Road meant backtracking to La Grange Road before the ride ended at Stoneville.
Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie after a one minute briefing and for the arm twisters that encouraged a ride on such a glorious day.
And yes, it really was that Reen Road.
