Miami Muster

Post by Bozo »

A good turnout at Catalano's and Dome this morning with Rod Rocket Peter with yet another new bike.

11 riders left to weave through the hills to Churchman Brook Dam an earth embankment dam built between 1923 and 1929 with Russell Dumas as Resident Engineer. He was also Resident Engineer on Canning Dam. Dumas House (Government Buildings opposite Kings Park) are named after him.

Steve, JC, R90S Mark, David P, Pete 2 Volts, Rainer, His Royal Griceness, Medic Mike, Wightman, Peter Bee and Bozo took Rowley Road to feel the serenity of the Best Choice Service Station in Kwinana. Through a packed Rockingham, past the azure waters of Penguin Island and Safety Bay to run through the suburbs to get to Miami Bakehouse where Goldie and Paul Rayment were waiting. Also waiting was Wightman's brother and daughter.

JC had left the ride earlier so there were 14 in the group for the run past Dawesville and the edge of the Peel Estuary.

The journey home was via Coolup and Burnside Road for an unhindered run on Hopelands and Kargotich Roads.

A very enjoyable coastal run down and inland run home. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and to the group for being good natured despite one no though road and plenty of traffic at Mandurah.
