A happy group gathered at Catalanos and Dome this morning. Of note was the reports of Ted celebrating in style his milestone birthday and the arraival of a new BMW K 1600. Mick brought along his recent acquisition in its schmick paintwork.

Eleven riders participated in the Sunday ride though Lachlan and Andrew were like a tag team, so the numbers averaged ten. His Royal Griceness or Bruce, Mick S, R90S Mark, Wightman, Andrew, Lachlan, Medic Mike, Attila, David P, Peter Bee and Bozo took advantage of the shaded scarp roads to zig zag through the Bickley Valley to get to Canning Mills Road. A run along Brockway and Chevin got us to the Brookton Highway for a blip via Gardiner got us to Canning Dam. A brief break before a loop to Cann Road and a run along Rails Crescent put us in Byford.

The run up Del Park Road was cut short by taking the conveyer road to North Spur Road. A break at the Pinjarra Bakery was to be followed by a simple run home along Corio and Hopelands to Kargotich. At the intersection of Readheads Road we were diverted east due to bushfires. Timing the return to Hopelands Road or Rapids Road was frustrated by the lack of sealed connections and the worrying signs of emergency vehicles travelling north with us on the South West Highway. A mistaken turn on to Dirk Road was corrected by Mick S who took us on Hall Road to Karnup Road so we could get back on track.

The happy group tolerated all of the changes and made for a most enjoyable ride. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie. Great to have some new faces come along for the ride.
