Misjudging the Temperature

A smaller but enthusiastic mob at Dome for the Sunday gathering. Goldie reported being on the move after selling his house. Eight riders Andrew, Medic Mike, Graeme, Cameron, Steve, R90S Mark, Peter Bee and Bozo hoped to avoid the heat by leaving a bit earlier on the Sunday ride and limiting the range.
All went well as we cruised the shady roads of the Darling Scarp to travel to Canning Dam and Churchman's Brook before doubling back to Mundaring Weir. After discussions ranging from off road riding, 8,000 km trips, Thai motorcycle tours, off road courses and the Mount Marshall event it seemed safe to venture out of the air conditioning. How wrong the ride leader was in that it very quickly climbed to 40 degrees and peaked at 41.5 degrees on the Great Eastern Highway Bypass. The temperature started to tumble after Gloria Jeans Ascot. It seems we should have headed to a cafe near Swanbourne today and avoided any travel near the Perth Airport.
Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and the group for getting out on a challenging day.
