Reduced attendance at Dome with a large number of riders at the Mt Marshall ride. Decided a round about route to end up at Toodyay Bakery was a way to treat perfect weather for riding. Joined up with Swampy’s entourage with ten riders heading out to Orrong Rd and past the airport. Nice to see James and his partner Jodie joining us.
Got to Parkerville where a parting of the group occurred and we didn’t reconnect until Toodyay Bakery. Ooopppsss.
My group did O’Brien Rd etc and then Toodyay Rd hoping to join groups but to no avail.
All forgotten as we all sat on the balcony at the Bakery and enjoyed yummie food and drinks.
Return was north out of Toodyay, then Dewars Pool Rd, thru Bindoon, Chittering Valleys, Bullsbrook, etc home.
Lesson again, more than 6 riders- corner mark- simple.

Onya Pete, Yes lovely day for riding and for getting out of the metro area!
Difficult at times to keep the group together because of traffic in places but all went well untill Parkerville where multiple cars left a group of four us in the wilderness!
Being a bit more familier with some of the hills roads previously travelled I took over the lead of our little splinter group and gradually we made our way through the back roads byways to to Gt. Eastern Hwy just West of Bakers Hill.
Slabbed it to Clackline and then onto Toodayay Rd, Sandplain road after which we descended into Toodyay and the Bakery for refreshments.
James was rather concerned for Jodies welfare, she being in Peters group but I was able to reassure him that all was well with a phone call to Scruff who said they were about 15 minutes out of town.
Once regrouped and perched on the upstairs Bakery verandah we were joine by Goldie on his return from the Mt. Marshall show.
Yes, corner marking is always a good practice no matter the number of riders but I think both groups enjoyed their respective rides!

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
