After an absence of two weeks in the Eastern States it was great to be greeted by an impressive crowd of bikes and people at Dome this morning. Ted was back on his bike, Richard turned up on his 1200C, JonO had his impressive HP2 Sport, Alex brought a rig, Ross had a 650GS for sale for an Esperance member and a book on BMW Clubs was circulating. Over 35 bikes and around 40 people.
11 riders headed through the Bickley Valley to Bakers Hill. Rainer, Shiner (Andy), Just John, JonO, David P, Mick S, AAA Anthony, Ralph, Young Mr Grice, Navigator Nick and Bozo had cool air in their faces as they weaved their way past Mundaring Weir to be confronted by a sparkling new Africa Twin being chauffeured by JP. The group had had a brief break at Mundaring Weir where JonO was quizzed on his recent acquisition and its specifications.
Another break at the lakes before a sedate run on Talbot West Road with the group taking care to keep clear of four impulsive 4WD's drivers.
At Bakers Hill we were surrounded by army cadets in camouflage to ensure we ate our pies in peace. The run home was down Oyston and Ingpen, Vineyard and Government Roads to get to Mount Helena, where the ride ended. Thanks to Navigator Nick for his skills as running as Tail End Charlie. An enjoyable day out with a happy group.
