Jammin' with the Traffic

Post by Bozo »

Sunday was a fantastic day to get out and about but unfortunately the whole of Perth had the same idea. We also got caught up in the Perth Hills Gran Fondo with car drivers ahead of us reluctant to pass the cyclists.

On a positive note, there were over 30 motorcycles at Dome including Simon's immaculate PD.

A dozen riders had as sedate run through Perth traffic to reach the hills and get caught up in the Gran Fondo. Wightman, R90S Mark, Mick S, 3 Amps Nick, Danny, James, Rainer, Brian/5, Rod Rocket Peter, Ralph, Peter Bee and Bozo finally got free of traffic on Gardiner Road and had a smooth run to Canning Dam. A battle through the suburbs got us to Naval Base before a run along the Rockingham Foreshore in heavy traffic. Arriving at Miami Bakehouse, we were joined by Matt Wightman and Goldie. After Dawesville we again got clear of traffic until crossing the wall to wall procession on Forrest Highway. A clear run to the Pinjarra Dwellingup Road via Burnside Road was very enjoyable.

The ride reconfigured at Pinjarra before heading up Corio Road and home. Thanks to Peter Bee for running as tail end Charlie and a patient group in dealing with the traffic and the cyclists.
