Hi Cookie, and members,
At this point in time I am considering the Border run as well. I just need to see if I can get the Friday and or Monday off as well. That way the run can be a bit more enjoyable with the extra day or two. If you leave on the Friday would it be easier to say meet up in Midland or Mundaring, team up and then head out ? Sometimes back tracking to Catalanos (Vic park) can be a waste of time depending on the direction of the ride and where each person lives. Anyway, I'll plan to go provided time and things at home remain clear to go.
Will follow this notice board closely to see how plans move along.
Regards
Geoff

I may also go for the border run, depends on what the weather is like, its not pleasant when its cold, wet and windy so fair weather starter only. Would probably do what I did last year, leave at about 10 on Fri get to Norseman stay the night in a comfy motel bed Fri night and leave early morning to arrive at the Border village at mid-day. Travel back Sun -Mon staying in Coolgardie.

Hi Cookie,
Looks like my Border Run participation has been sorted out for me. Riding home today I was hit from behind at a stop sign. I'm fine but my right hand side pannier has gone to heaven along with the mounting bracket on the bike frame. So I have no panniers for the trip and given that she who must be feared was actually going to come along as well, I cant convince her to go without the ability to carry some gear. Even if it was just me I still need panniers for my own gear.
I have made an insurance claim but doubt if it will be resolved before the Border Run. However, I will continue to chase it upo with the hope it will get sorted before then.
Cheers for now.

Hi Bully,
My panniers were the standard ones from BMW. The plastic ones with expandable option. I will have to see what the insurance people say because as you know, replacing them is very expensive. Although, the car who hit me has to pay not me.

Hi Geoff, Sorry to hear about the damage. Glad your OK
I have a pair of leather saddle bags you can borrow, if you think they will be any use.
You could possibly hang both on the one side?

Hi All
With the weather looking good for the week it looks like I may well be going thru Hyden and
into GSA Country.
Not sure about a camp spot for Friday night yet.

Hi Cookie, Lefty and others,
Thanks for your willingness to support me get to the border guys. I have even had one very gracious and kind offer from a member offering me the use of a motorcycle. Very appreciated indeed.
I will see if I can get my own bike and panniers organised during this week. If I can, I will come, if not then we'll give it a miss and be with you in spirit instead. You never know, I may be fortunate and get it sorted before then. If not, there will be other runs to look foreward to.
Cheers Geoff
