You may be interested in joining Toni for a Christmas ride in Laos. We are looing at flying out 18 Dec and returning 3 Jan. http://www.remoteasia.com/8_Day_Motorcyle_tour_Lao.html

We will most likely be doing a self-guided tour of about 10 days. Itinerary can be designed to our liking. Expected budget circa $3K (maybe a tad less) which would include flights, accommodation, bike hire, etc.

Best time to travel in Laos is Dec - Feb, so weather will be great. We think we'll do Northern Laos from Vientiane, taking in Luang Prabang (the old capital); Plain of Jars; some caves, etc. Mixed of paved & dirt roads, most likely.

The good news for those of us who are vertically challenged....Asian made bikes!

Hmmm - interesting, even to those of us not vertically challenged... do you plan to carry much or "live off the land" (so to speak)?
... will pass this along to the eastern half... - how soon do you need to know?
