Sting in the tail of Dwellingup Ride

Post by Bozo »

A glorious morning to go for a coffee and a ride. Still a split in the breakfast gatherings but a solid turnout at the club gathering at Catalano's. Rhonda's Rocky was exercising his full vocal range. 14 riders, Tom H, John T, Brian/5, Cameron, Ted, Goldie, Steve N, Rob, Mick S, JC, Ralph, David P, Peter Bee and Bozo had a surprisingly traffic free run in the Hills to get to Churchman Brook Dam. A south north deviation onto Rails Crescent was followed by a stop at Ampol Byford to be parked amongst some very long American cars and excited campers. A run past Serpentine Dam and Karnet Prison was only briefly interrupted by kangaroos. A subdued ride up Del Park road with an excursion at the conveyor was followed by food at the Blue Wren. It was getter a little warmer, enough to trip the power supply and slow food ordering.

A wallet was lost and despite extensive searches was not found and it was only a small group of four that ran the gauntlet of the Lane Poole Reserve and the Nangas. A deviation on to Burnside Road was followed by a run up the "guts".

The sting in the tail was temperatures nudging 40 degrees on the way home adding to the discomfort of hitting Perth traffic.

Thanks to Peter Bee for running as Tail End Charlie and to the excellent corner marking by the group. The ride to Dwellingup was very pleasant. I hope an honest soul has handed the missing wallet in and it is returned to its anxious owner. (Wallet was handed in to the Dwellingup Police Station and was reunited with its owner)
