Roos on Rails

Post by Bozo »

Another stunning day to go for a motorcycle ride. A solid turnout at Catalano's for the Sunday gathering, including Noel who made it to both the Dome breakfast and Catalano's event.

Fourteen riders were involved in the run to Dwellingup. Peter Bee, Pete 2 volts, Cameron, Wightman, Rod Rocket Peter, Ted, Goldie, Rainer, Dave S, Sophie, Dave P, Eric, R90S Mark and Bozo participated. The run started with a weave through the Bickley Valley before a stop at Canning Dam. A four year old birthday party was set up at the dam with a guard from magpies and crows prompting reminisces by the ride group from their childhoods in the 40's, 50's and 60's.

On the run to Byford we deviated onto Rails Crescent where Sophie was surrounded by six kangaroos trapped by a fence that crossed the road as she passed by.

The forecast smoke from controlled burns and bushfires was minimal as we rolled into Dwellingup to catch up with Goldie with a few old acquaintances.

A smooth run on the Nangas was followed by Burnside Road into Pinjarra where another 8 laid back kangaroos were spotted.

After the Corio Road twisties we headed up Hopeland Road. The ride ended at Hopeland School.

A brilliant day out aided by great corner marking and a skilled tail end Charlie (R90S Mark).

A most enjoyable day.
