B/5 led the team of 8 through Bellevue, taking Katherine St to join up to Clayton Rd for our usual route through Boya, Darlington and Glen Forrest to arrive at Mojos in Mundaring. Weather fine though a bit chilly around 12 degrees.
The suggestion of visiting the Fortune French Hot Bread Shop in Narrogin was supported by all 7 riders who followed me as we headed east for the Lakes turn off to utilise the Talbots to get us to Waterhatch Rd and take the York to Williams Rd to head south. Our bravado to ride pass “ Road Closed ~ Local Traffic Only” signs failed as the road was definitely closed with a bridge being replaced after approx, 8 klm, so we retraced our route back to Waterhatch and headed into Beverley.
Still wanting to utilise the not often travelled York to Williams Rd we took the Westdale Rd south of Beverley and started to head south again on the Y to W Rd. Staying on the bitumen we took the North Wandering Rd into Pingelly and cruised south on the Great Southern Hwy to Narrogin.
The Fortune French Hot Bread Shop had been internally redecorated since my last visit displaying their yummy food even better. The place was very busy, as it was 12:30pm, but numerous serving staff provided quick service. We sat inside and consumed the goodies whilst chatting as usual about everything and nothing.
The return home was a reverse until we met the Brookton Hwy and the ride finished. Thanks to all for patience with our turnaround and waiting for a couple of wayward speedsters and special thanks to David P for ever reliable TEC duty.
