Twisting in the Face of a Severe Weather Alert

Sunday started with a smaller group at Catalano’s with the mid year dinner the night before and with a severe weather report providing the promise of challenging motorcycling conditions.

It was under blue skies that six stalwarts saddled up to saunter up the scarp whilst scanning skyward. Lefty, Wes, Wightman, R90S Mark, Peter Bee and Bozo skirted around the airport, watching the isolated shower pattern to see how to weave a ride through it. Our timing was perfect in doing the Haddrill Road, Connemara Drive loop on roads still draining away a recent shower.

A stop at Gingers to check fuses before a relatively dry trip through the Chittering Valley including the now bitumenised northern section of Wandena Road. Two High Wide loads threatened to split the group in two at the intersection of Wandena Road and Great Northern Highway but we managed to skip along Blue Plains Road and skyline via Teatree Road to the Bindoon Bakehaus.

A delayed departure from Bindoon with the high wide loads requiring traffic to park up.

Soaking constant rain greeted us mid Chittering Valley with patchy precipitation back to Perth. A better run than expected.

Thanks to the group for braving the uncertain weather and to Peter Bee for immaculate work as tail end Charlie.
