It only the two of us that left GJ Ascot for Byford. Some of the regulars were touring Tassie in the wet or repairing M/Cs. Stayed where possible away from the traffic by going via the backblocks of Kelmscott and Railway Av / Wungong to join the SWestern Hwy via Eleventh Rd.

At Byford Dome it was mostly the usual crew already waiting for us having their morning coffees.
Half a dozen left to follow me out via the usual backroads through Mundijong to Fisher Rd. With the first stop at Dwellingup where several refuelled being surprised as the price was less than most Perth Servos. Then non stop to Darkan, missing the road works and unsealed roads by going via Pinjarra-Williams Rd. Almost getting to Williams before turn south down Williams-Darkan Rd.

Arriving the Café just before 12:00. As expected, The Great Awakening Café had great food and welcoming staff. We were joined by several riders from Collie. After refuelling at the Roadhouse, we headed home via Collie. A stop to the coalfields opencut lookout. Then continuing on via Mornington, Eckersley, then up through Yarloop to then drop down to Sommers. Final stop was in Coolup to bid farewells to head home via Hopeland.

Overall a very stress-free trip with little traffic and only a few road works.
Points were deducted for hesitating at the corner of Coolup & Gibbings Rd, entering a No-Thru Road in Yarloop and missing the Opencut Viewing area turnoff.

Thanks, crew for your company, it was ideal weather for the longer ride ( 500kms ) and to Chris for leading a segment and Peter Bee as TEC.
