Hi folks...
I have produced a video and uploaded it on YouTube in relation to road and track condition from Laverton to Neale Junction. It stops abruptly at 8.20 minutes and did not load fully...it still gets the message across.

Remember that this video is not meant to entertain...it is meant to inform..it is a little dry.
Over to you DR11 commitee.
Regards

Great video, well done.
FYI I did the Connie Sue hwy from Warburton to Neale Junction last week, It's about 300k's and I thought it would be an alternative route than Laverton, It took me 6 hours in a Landcruiser, It's very remote the track not having any trafic down it for a long time.
From Warburton the first 70 k's or so is sand dunes, not too big, but would test even the best bikes and riders, It then turns into good break away country for about 50 k's, with good fast gravel, then it gets bad again until about 50 k's from NJ, with bad wash outs, rocks, deep sand patches and more, It would be a full days ride from Warburton with plenty of sand and dunes to fall off in, there is a water tank about half way, so you won't die from thirst.
After NJ the road improves to hard packed limestone, another 300 or so K's and you hit the Trans Cont Rail line.
As I work in the area, and after talking to Robin, I may be able to organise a fuel drop at NJ, if It's needed, who recons they might need some fuel?

Impressed with your video camera - remains in focus from standing height to an inch above the sand/road.
How did you get down there so quick

Years of practice.

Thanks for the video....how long were the deep sand section. There were two sections if i remember correctly. I will have another look at Bens' report on ADV rider as well.

Koos,
There were two main sections..both about 200-300 metres long from memory. There are a number of smaller sections which were 100-150 mm deep...just enough to keep you on your toes. It was tiring work and kept us on edge. The deep sections wouldn't have been so bad if they were on straight sections...these tended to go around bends which made it a little more exciting.
