I'll be there, myself and a few others are planning to head off on Thursday to Hopetoun, Friday to ninety mile straight, Saturday border and bight sight seeing, Sunday head west, arriving home some time Monday.

Anyone interested in following along or meeting along the way, send me a pm and we can discuss details.

It will be black top all the way - road works permitting, however plenty of other ways via dirt and end up at the same places.

Regards
Cookie :P

Yeah guys. I'm in, although I'll be driving the backup vehicle with my bike on trailer heading to the new destination. Jamie needs to co0nfiscate my passport at the border so I am not allowed back in 8) . I'll meet everyone at the 90 mile straight Friday night hopefully.

Where are my fellow dirt riders. Sort of got a plan together to go to the border Old Betsy ( ahab ) style, off road of course. Throw your hat in the ring, we can only get stuck.

Hi Mike
Count me in for the dirt. All I have to do is sell the GS, buy a DR and get it fitted out within the next three weeks - too easy....

Maybe I should add for BMW bikes only. But then we could use the other brands to fill in the holes for traction

"We can only get stuck" - based on recent photographic evidence, you would know all about that!

Have fun fella's. Next year for me and then on to Cape York for the OCR.

Can't make this year cos I'll be travelling Broome > Gibb River Rd > Kununurra > Katherine > Alice > the Rock > Gt Central Rd > home during August... third year in a row on GRR... woohoo. Towing the fridge, shower & inner spring mattress this time... will be hard to take.
