Evening all,
Currently in the Pilbara, not on the bike, but loving it.
Trip leaving on October 1st. Perth, Port Augusta, Flinders Ranges,William Creek, Uluru, Laverton, Lake Ballard and home. So far only DFS and myself, meeting 4 like minded Victorians in Port Augusta. Some other WA's have shown interest, but none commited ,apart from Neville who can't get the 2 weeks off work.
Well.......................any takers?

Hello David

Can't do the 2 weeks, but keen to help get you to the first night's camp and possibly find you again on the way back.

Nev spacey and I
Had a great adventure, guiding David & David to Fraser Ranges - what a fantastic place, an oasis just off the Eyre Hwy and on the return trip, did some rock climbing near Norseman, ventured down the Hyden - Norseman road and apart from the Real Tourer steed running out of fuel, leaving Cookie sitting on the side of the road, enjoying the scenery whilst waiting for faithful traveling companion, Nev to return with a supply of fuel. The gravel was in good condition and average speed was good. Looking forward to riding North East in 2 weeks to find the weary travelers as they return.

Cookie

Please explain HOW the "R" oad "T" ourer ran out of fuel on that short bit of road between Norseman to Hyden.

More information is required, I'm looking forward to the excuses on this one.

Hi Mike

No excuses, it was a case of mind over facts, when we decided to tackle the harsh outback track, we should have topped up at Norseman!! I knew I had best part of 300km range left in the tank and with lower speed the range would improve- great plan but fell short by 52km.

I heard from DFS this afternoon, they were parked up in Port Augusta, having a coffee, they were on track, to meet up with the Victorian and NSW riders.

I think there is an opening here for a training session on: " taking a RT or bitumen rider off the black top". There are not fuel stops off road. These things have to be planned.
Ken I think you will be able to hand off the yellow jacket with " P" on the back of it to Cookie now.

hey Cookie, here's one of Bully's gems of life. "when travelling in the outback, the only time that you can have TOO much fuel, is when you are on fire "

Thanks guys, your advice is well recieved, and we did enjoy our adventure, again proving the capability of the RT, when it is not tucked up under a blanket warm and dry in the garage, it is out exploring the country side - rain or shine.

Last I heard from DFS he was in a hotel in Adelaide, while his GS has a new rear drive bearing fitted, hoping to join the flood bound group in a few days, closer to the NT border. Apparently Mc Farkle and his group found roads closed and lots of water? As they headed North from Port Augusta.

Good evening to all, Heard from Mcfarkle mid afternoon they have skirted around wet areas and passed through Coober Pedy today, will be at the rock tomorrow, then heading west on Monday, DFS is in a car on his way west - minus bike, which is awaiting parts in SA.

Anyone interested in a ride out North West on Friday afternoon or early Saturday to meet the weary travellers and Eastern states visitors?
