Hi All... I've finally landed in Sydney... Took off 430am Wednesday morning and arrived northern beaches Sydney 530pm Saturday night, in time for dinner.... The k100 held its own with only loosing the charging accessories on day 2..and picking up ethanol fuel at Bathurst which made the fuel pump chatty..hopefully a clean refill of standard should fix it.. Overall A very comfortable ride.

Well done to the K100GSA.
I would like to read the ride report from the return trip thru the Anne Beadell Hwy.
Oh, by the way you need lots of fuel and water.

Hi all,
Well with fuel pump problems, l decided to scratch my idea of going down south and going accross the ocean road, a big dissappointment, but the closer l got west, the cheaper the tow truck would be

. So l took off 6am monday morning south coast NSW. Im now home!!! arrived last night 645pm wednesday.. a BIG trip!!!..
The K's problem hasn't changed with the fuel, However discovering oil all over my fuel tank speedo and my visor on day 2 just outside Port Augusta.. everytime l went over a bump oil was squirting out of the right fork, Somehow l lost the refill screw.. l didnt relise this unitll midday day 3 with only 500ks to go.... (at first l thought it was a slow leak from the front brake resevour) so was watching the brakes, and waiting to top up.
So bumpy ride, air mattress going down every night, 43 degree heat (day 1), and very long days. l made it home in good time. Today is a rest day, small repairs, and cleaning...
see you on sunday with the Brick..

Nice one Dale for bringing the brick home in one piece! I'll accept nothing less than a detailed, blow-by-blow account of the total journey, heavily supported with photographic evidence...................Talking of bricks.....I got my 3/4 brick back from Sprocket man recently and having been informed by he, who knows everything (Paul Keller), I discovered that the 3/4 brick had sputtered to a halt on a hot day back from Toodyay????
So, confident in the knowledge that I could replicate the situation, I took said brick up and down the motorway, flogging it to try and get it to cut out, so that I could test for the Goldie "hit the tit and nothing happens, to a few minutes later, hit the tit and away-she-goes-again" But just like a watched toaster never spits out toast, the bike never missed a beat. I took it to work today, caning it down Tonkin Highway then back along Roe and Kwinana. Just before Anketell, she started bunny hopping and gasping! At last. Now I could at least try and see what was the cause....... Parked off while a phalanx of cars and trucks whistled past at 100 km/hr. Hit the button and not a sausage. 13V on the battery and lights were bright. What could it be? On an impulse I opened the fuel cap and dry as a bone she was!
Luckily, a V Strom stopped and gave me a lift to the nearest Shell "No you can't use an old plastic coke bottel" screeched the Sheila in the Servo, but what was I to do? 500ml of Sprite/Petrol mix and she was off again, like the front row in a Guns 'n Roses concert. So the mysterious, non working red 4l left light is the culprit here. Now why didn't BMW give us a manual twist tap which has to be turned at the transition between main and reserve. Feeling is believing, not seeing! John
