Lowered 2007 F 650 GS

Post by Ains500 »

I have just purchased a 2007 F 650 GS and have a smile from ear to ear. I would however like to investigate what is involved in converting this bike back to a standard height. According to the purchase order, it was ordered and delivered as a lowered version from Auto Classic.

1) My understanding is that I would need to change the lower rear Shockabsorber Links, the side stand and the seat. Can anyone confirm that this is all that needs changing please?
2) Would there be anyone with the standard height components, that would like to swap for my lowered gear?

This bike is like new, only done 14,000km, one lady owner. Cheers, Ains.

I understand there also can be a spacer installed on the front suspension as part of the lowering.

Hello Mark,
Great choice of bike, I owned 1 for a while in South Korea.
Re the lowering;
The front forks may be slid through the upper clamp so sitting proud of the upper clamp.
Have a look at Real OEM . com for part numbers for the link in the rear suspension ( should show different types).

Maybe you could come along to the next tuning day in Perth and we can advise you further.

Here is a link for sale in Canada to bring rear back up to standard.

BMW F650 Swingarm Parts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Standard size (not lowered) shock linkage, chain guide and chain adjusting mechanism, taken off a 2002 BMW F650. This will fit most F & G 650 singles up to current model G650 and Sertao, please check the part numbers/ application to make sure it fits your bike.

Hi Alex, I contacted Moto Mark regarding the standard Links. Unfortunately they have already sold. Thanks again for thinking of me. Mark

Hi Alex et all. I trust you all had a great Christmas. I had Christmas at my parents home in Denmark. My F650 GS has been kept there since I purchased it in September, while I was overseas. Today I finally got to enjoy riding it home to Fremantle.
The other good news I have is that the standard suspension links that Alex put me on to in Canada, arrived. Next job is to clean the dirt road dust off the bike and then fit the standard links.
Thanks again for putting me in contact, Mark
