Spoungy Brakes

Post by Nurzo »

If your experiencing spoungy front brake after removing the front wheel, on the LCs but can apply to other models, and have spread the pads for the reinstall, this is a solution that I have found that works.
Bike on side stand, bars turned to the left, pull the brake lever in as hard as possible and bind it up. Leave for an hour or so and release the lever slowly and your brake will be back to its normal hard feel.

A mircoscopic amount of air works it's way into the system when pumping up the pads after reinstalling the front wheel and I haven't worked out how.
I've only experience this on the R1200 LC and a HD that I had. I use this proceedure every time I bleed any brake system and it works for me.
