I was talking to Jonno who has put me onto this item that is supposed to stop the bike surging at low revs. Aparently the fuel controller that BMW has placed is very basic and makes the fuel supply very lean at low revs thus making the motor surge just when you don't want it surging such as low speed off road manouvering. JonO, why do you need a fuel module to stop surging whilst off roading on the GSA

Made in USA, but some of the "engrish" seems a bit odd

Had one fitted over a year now, improves off idle response greatly, smoother throttle roll on and no drive line snatching. Overall much better mannered, especially appreciated in congested traffic and manouveing in 1st/2nd.

This sort of technology has been available for a while but mostly in 4 wheelers. It's basically overcoming the restrictions employed by manufacturers to meet emissions targets. Hmm come to think of it Davey we might need to look for the opposite device for you mate! anyone know of a Sprockett resistor

Have fitted one about a month ago still testing . Bike has better response at low rpm. Fuel consumption appears a bit higher but that may be because of the rider. I got the one from Belgium for around 40 Euros -60 Dollars. Check out the link, it explains what it's all about.

now that the module has arrived, we're expecting a full report on the installation and initial thoughts on the "new 'n improved" GSA

I had one on my '09 and worth every penny in my opinion. Took it off the write off and still considering putting it onto the Triple Black, need more ride time to decide though if the twin cam needs it.

As others have said the benefit is in the low down range, especially doing slow obstacles and up and down gears alot. On the '09 the engine actually ran 1 bar cooler and cold starts were noticably improved.

One key thing though is the placement of the sensor, I first put mine just under the oil cooler and where I thought was away from hot air flow. I didn't notice any difference so went for a decent ride and moved my gloveless hand around the front area to find the cool air flow. Ended up on the left brace bar where it definitely improved the performance.

If you get one and don't notice any vast difference, rethink the location of the sensor.
