Avgas

Post by bowewilson@gmail.com »

I may need to use some avgas in my XChallenge (about 40 litres over a 3 day period), does anyone know if this will harm the bike?

Only if you try and 'fly your bike' off a cliff Bowe.

Trust my feedback is helpful.

Bowe,
The flame propergation of Avgas is a lot slower then 91,95,98 so this will have some effect on fuel air mix as the motor in the bike is running a lot higher revs than a aircraft motor.
If you have to it will run, long term effect with EMU controlled motor not sure.
You would think cooling would not be the issue with a water cooled motor, its more of will the burn propergation and fuel air mix mess with the EMU logic to much.
May be question for fuel company techs if they feel like making a comment on something that is not normally done.
Have you done search on ADV rider for experince.
Can ask a mate that plays bit with some things in that area.
Cheers

Hi Bowe

A few months ago I was getting lots of spam mail.

Got a software program called "the Bullshit detector" - as soon as my computer detects bullshit an alarm goes off.

Don't get too offended Bowe, when Ahab posts something, as well as the bullshit alarm activating, all of the lights in our house start to flicker off and on.

mate when he posts, the light in kings park flash red and south of the river black out, Synergy send an all hours truck out and western power employees rub their hands together. Some have paid off their mortgages 15 years earlier because of Ahab

Hi Bowe

If you haven't already done so, google "avgas in a motorcycle". You'll get quite a few results... for example
