Purchased from Boxer-Performance these sprockets change the cam timing by 9 degrees which has the affect of bringing the peak torque in about 1000rpm lower. This gives the bike better low and midrange response. I went for a good blast this evening and the best way to describe the effect is this...

At 3000 rpm in any gear twist the throttle and the standard Cam timing of the 1200GSA delivers a smooth but steadily increasing acceleration. With the timing advance sprockets the same scenario delivers and instant steady kick in the back acceleration. Ie you don't get the sensation of the power building up it just comes on strong straight away.

Anyway early days yet and more km to do before true assessment of the change in characteristics. There are lots of posts with positive feedback on ADV rider about these sprockets, sometimes referred to as Lennies Sprockets after the guy who makes them, based now in Melbourne.

Nev you need to take the GSA for a spin, I think you'll be impressed.

Thanks for the reminder Shane. The inboard computer shows fuel economy at 5L/100
I have see it go no higher than 5.1 and no lower over sustained riding than 4.9

The overall impression now is of smoother performance better and more instant pull at low rpm. Just nicer to ride!
Faster? No not really
More fuel consumption no I don think so
Lower fuel consumption no!

I tried some top gear roll on tests from 80km/h in 6th along side a standard GSA with rider of similar weight.
The sprocket fitted GSA pulled away a bit quicker but actually exhibited some clutch slip. The standard GSA was not hat far behind and showed no clutch slip.

I was careful after this to check for any evidence of clutch issues but there were none. Only when doing the above test (repeatable). I am not sure why this is, the bike had about 15k on the clock at he time 20 now. It has the booster plug and a full akropovic exhaust fitted but is otherwise standard. Perhaps the combination of torque and gearing at that speed is more than the clutch can manage?

Lennie the supplier of the sprockets is very helpful. He has visited Perth a few times since the install and always calls to see how the bike is going. He even offered to help with the install originally.

All told I am happy with the results I can definitely feel the difference and it makes the bike even more enjoyable to ride.
