I need to get a replacement battery for my RT. I am looking for recommendations as to type, brand and where to buy. Firm believer in you get what you pay for so not looking for the cheapest, just the best value for money. Appreciate recommendation. Thanks, Ed

Try Challenge batteries in Osborne park and don't forget to ask at the desk for a discount (not club, just discount)
My last battery was for the R80G/S and asking scored near 40% off

I bought a SSB Powersport lithium battery for my HP2 early last month (LH14-BS). Paid $278 from an eBay seller. Link to brand website -
http://www.ssbpowersport.com.au/tabid/2 ... fault.aspx
This is the first time I've bought a lithium battery for my mc.
Influencing factors for me. Reportedly...
- longer life
- significantly higher CCA over equiv non lithium
(confirmed)
- light weight
(confirmed)
- this brand will work with normal 12v battery chargers (most other brand lithiums dont)
- exact same battery case size as OEM spec
(confirmed)
The 2 main negatives I've heard about lithiums is
1) they dont like cold weather starts ie around zero degrees or lower. But apparently there are a couple of easy work arounds which overcome that glitch. I'll find out this winter in central Oz.
2) is lithiums wont work with normal 12v battery chargers, but the SSB Powersport manufacturer says they have addressed that issue.

I have been using Odyssey batteries from Challenge Batteries in Osborne Park, in both my plane and bikes in at times frosty conditions. They are a sealed battery and not cheap but I can't fault them. The first one in the plane lasted 5 years and the second is up to 4 years and still going, the bikes are ticking over 3 years.
