I am just new to your forum as well as being new to WA (previous Victorian) as well as having just purchased my first BMW. It is an oldy but I feel a goody a K100RS. my question to the group is about a connection mounted on top of the high tension coil cover. It does not appear in the manual or in the Haynes service book. It has a clip in cover/plug and appears abolut 4/5mm in diameter, the connecting wires disappear up under the tank. I would appreciate any comment.
Regards

Hi Lefty27,
Welcome to WA, and our forum. I am not sure about the wires, I will check my K1100LT, see if it is the same.
Sounds like the main lead to me?
Cheers
Lefty
ps, Nice nickname!

It's the auxiliary socket. It goes straight to the battery via an inline fuse.
You can use it to power things like GPS's or heated vests etc., or for plugging in battery chargers. You will need the plug jack, which are available for about $24.

Thanks for the reply. i figured this would be the case although when I put a test light on it it shows no power.
