At the last tuning day John W & Nev had a listen to my R100 clutch gearbox noise, consensus was likely worn thrust bearing. Today pulled out the gearbox, stuck to the magnetic drain plug was about a centimeter long piece of looks like tooth.
Q..John, Nev..could that noise have been gearbox noise only (of course will replace the thrust bearing)... I guess my only option is to send it east to Ray Peake ?

Highly likely you have found the only problem, seemed to be where the noise was coming from, you would be unlucky for a diff or motor to go at the same time, Thorsten might be able to fix for you.

Good to hear you've identified the problem.
Lucky that magnet picked up the broken tooth! That could have been a ripper failure... No more wheelies and burnouts for you...
DO remove and inspect your clutch, flywheel and ring gear... Don't forget to block the front of the crank to stop it falling out... And mark the flywheel position to ensure the timing mark goes back in the right place.
I don't recall being any part of that conversation other than saying that it didn't matter what the noise was, the gearbox had to come off...
